Road Trip

Picture
We got a late start leaving Portland and didn't get to the campsite we planned on staying at. Luckily I had looked up a few different ones in different locations and we stayed here instead. It was a small campground off of the highway in Coeur d'Alene Idaho. We got there around 10:30pm. It was really dark and REALLY cold!

We got up early the next morning to get on the road. I hate squandering time with petty little things so I came up with the idea to just pick up our tent and put in the back of our rental truck with it still standing. That way we didn't waste time having to take it down and put it back up at the next campsite. I wish I took a picture of it in there, it was pretty funny. Once we were on the road we were headed onto Montana.

The "Keke meow" did farely well. He had his times of whining and crying, but it wasn't bad. I would just tell him to be quiet a few times and he would stop. At night, so police couldn't see him, we would let him sit on the dash board of the passenger side. He really liked that, but he lost his priviliges when he would suddenly dart across the dash and block Freds view of the road.

Next stop: BILLINGS MONTANA

Picture
We stopped at a KOA in Billings Montana. Probably the cleanest campsite I have ever been to. Beautiful grounds, extremely clean bathrooms. We didn't find out until later, but apparently this particular KOA was the first KOA ever built. I would recommend this campsite to ANYONE! I snapped this picture at just the right second because I happened to get a bee in the picture.

Took Kek on his leash and he made some friends. There were two other cats besides this one, but this one was the most daring.

WHO MAKES A BETTER FIRE?

The first night camping Fred made the fire. It took a good 40 mintues before it got roaring. The second night camping I made the fire and had it roaring in less than 5 minutes. You can decide for yourself who made the better fire.

After staying in Billings Montana we got up early the next day and drove all the way thru North Dakota and into Minnesota where we planned on camping out. It was close to 10 or 11 pm when we got to the KOA we planned on  staying at. When we drove through the park it seemd like a scene from a scary movie and all the tent sites were completely flooded. We decided to leave and find another campsite. For some reason it seemed that Minnesota was short on campsites. Finally after driving for atleast another hour we stumbled upon a campsite. Just as we were about to start setting up camp, Fred made the decision to not campout and to just stay in a hotel. We kept on driving until we found a town with vacancy and setteled into our hotel room around almost three in the morning. That was the longest, most frustrating day of the trip. We got up the next morning to keep on driving until we got to Illinois.
